This is a coat of arms of our town of  Miory. You can see a white swan in it.

There is a beautiful picturesque lake in the center of our town. A lot of white swans live there. Some of the swans stay for winter in town in winter.

Hi, I am Sasha Mishuto. I am from Miory, Vitebsk Region, Belarus. My teacher of English told us about Together With Birds Project and I decided to Take part in this interesting project. It is winter now. There is a lot of snow on the ground and there is little food for our friends-small birds. They need our help. I decided to make a seed-can .My father helped me to make it. In these photos you can see how my dad and I are making a small seed-can. I’d like to tell you how you can make a seed-can and help birds in winter.

Just take a piece of wood. You need the following tools: a saw, a hammer, a screw-driver, some nails and a string.

 Fasten 4 nails to a piece of wood. Saw 4 wooden strips and nail them to this piece of wood. So the base for your seed-can is ready.

 Take 2 wooden strips and fasten them vertically to your wooden base with 2 screws and a screw-driver. Make a roof with 2 pieces of wood and nails. Attach the roof to the two vertical wooden strips with the help of 2 nails and a hammer.

 Attach a string or a rope to the roof. Your seed-can is ready.

 Hang your seed-can in the tree in your garden or in the park.

 Put some seeds or bread in the seed-can. Wait a little and birds will fly to your seed-can to take some food.

I’m very glad to help the birds in winter. I say “thank you” to my dad for helping me to make this nice seed-can. It’s so pleasant to watch the birds eating seeds in the seed-can which you have made with your own hands.

Hi! I’m Yana Vishnevskaya. I’m from Belarus. Every winter I hang a seed-can in the tree in our garden. My seed-can is 4 years old. My granddad made it for me. I like to feed the birds with sunflower seeds, wheat and bread. It’s very important to help birds in winter, because it is difficult for them to find food under thick snow. Let’s help birds in winter.

Hi! I’m Ann Shuk. I’m from Belarus, Miory. I have made my seed-can from a plastic bottle. I’ve hung it outside the window of my flat. It’s so interesting to watch the birds in the seed-can eating sunflower seeds. I can watch the birds for hours! I’m so glad to help my small friends.

Hi! I’m Vlad Anetko. I’m from Belarus, Miory. I have made a seed-can from wooden sticks. I think, it looks nice. I feed the birds with sunflower seeds in winter.

Our school has got a special “protector”. It consists of wonderful pictures made by hands at Handicraft lessons. You can see some pictures of birds in this “protector”. They are nice and funny, aren’t they?

Hi! I’m Ksenia Sushko. I’m from Belarus, Miory, Vitebsk Region. I’m glad to take part in” Together With Birds Project”. I decided to make a seed-can from a plastic bottle. My granddad helped me to make a seed-can .To make a plastic seed-can you just need a plastic bottle, scissors and a string. Make a hole in the bottle, add seeds, fasten a string to the bottle. Your seed-can is ready. Hang it in the tree. Let’s help birds in winter. They need our help.
