                 MY NATIVE LAND
My native land, my lovely lakes and forests,
My heart belongs to you from day when I was born,
I love with all my heart your winters, springs and autumns,
I am awake and feel the touch of cooling morn,
I hear your songs in whisper of the wind,
I see the purity of little blue corn-flower,
That’s great to understand: life’s not just black and white
And you may find a new exclusive color,
So ,close your eyes and feel the depth of dream,
Go on, don’t stop and notice swings of wish,
Imagine your own world where you are the only king,
So try, and may be you can find a fairy keys,
Keys to world, where everybody smile,
No wars, no sadnessand no tears,
Where everybody may fly,
The place of cemetery of the childish fears…

       My Red Ballon
On Sunday I went to the park
To watch a swimming duck.
It was so nice as in cartoons
Suddenly I saw a man selling air balloons.

I bought a red one
A balloon was very fun.
I played with it and smiled
I was such a happy child!

The balloon was mine,
But told me:”Bye!”
It wanted to fly
Into the bright blue sky.
That was a sunny day
And my balloon flew high away!

                My Childhood
I always have a happy mood
When I speak about my childhood.
I like to play with dogs
Though I am afraid of frogs.

I always like to play
Every week and every day.
Boys like to play basketball.
Girls like to play with Barbie dolls.

I always have great fun
When I hear fairy-tales told by my mum.
When I ride a bike and when I smile
I am a very happy child!

The story of a poet

That poet lived in solitude
Without grief and sorrow,
He did not know a gloomy mood,
His dreams were never horrors.
He wrote fine poems all day long,
Then thought about something,
Some pens and notebooks – all he owned,
All other things were nothing.
But once he ran out of ideas
And needed inspiration,
The poet couldn’t live with this,
Being full of desperation.
He went in search of it at down,
Decided to begin with
A neighboring upgraded town.
The heart was filled with tears.
He saw a crowd of people there,
So different, rich and poor,
They all were rushing off somewhere
And didn’t make him sure.
The poet was afraid to talk,
As if he was a dumb,
But suddenly he loudly spoke
(And later got a bump).
Those people didn’t notice him,
Continuing to run,
And maybe they just lived within
The problems of that time.
The poet hardly understood:
No help would come from them…
He went in search to near wood
With thoughts “This is a way”.
A lot of broken shrubs and trees,
Squashed mushrooms in the grass,
Picked, scattered berries - it was seen
By sensitive man’s eyes.
The river full of rubbish made
The old man deeply cry,
Most recently  he’d often fed
The fish, which was dead now.
A night was coming on the earth,
The man looked at the sky,
He hoped to see a new star’s birth,
But saw a satellite.
The day was spent, the man was sad,
And nowhere else to go
Muse didn’t let approach a step,
Backwards, the life was thrown.
The poor man sat down on the ground,
Frightened away the dove.
The poet died at that time,
But human was alive.

Ode to love
The thing which really needs to be protected
From evil, cruelty, injustice all the time,
Is only love, once used and then rejected,
As if it brings us a great deal of harm.
We get this very fragile gift to save it,
To carry through the life in safe and sound,
But otherwise it simply will be buried,
And for the rest of life we will go round.
Great love demands a large and deep attention,
So, be prepared to sacrifice a lot.
And if you love, fill senses with affection,
Directing all your prayers just to God.
Love often causes pain, lifts us to heaven,
No need to look here any benefits:
This feeling is so passionate and clear,
That everything is paling near it.
We are all people born equal and happy,
So, each of us can love and can be loved.
Don’t let this fragile sense become some scrappy
And meaningless devotions of lifetime.

Sincere love for life
The flame of fading fire
And sound of the guitar.
No dreams and no desires,
They’re looking at the stars.
A low bank of the river
Is filled with joyful songs.
These guys are boredom killers,
Don’t know of grief at all.
Their friendship is eternal,
No matter where they are,
Their souls exude a vernal,
Sincere love for life.
These stars, they are admiring,
Illuminate the path
In gratitude for having
Been caught by youngsters’ eyes.
Fate blesses their exploits,
The universe helps them,
And no sense to avoid
Some problems: it’s a shame.
Red dawn is approaching,
It’s bringing a new day,
Filled with nor tears, no problems,
But finding the right way.

Our home
At all, I can be anywhere,
Both in the sun and in the rain,
No matter how much from my home,
But there I will feel alone.
Palm trees, the sea can be around,
And yellow sand covers the ground,
I don’t get used to this to end,
Because I’ll miss my native land.
And after years of separation
We’re faced with real reincarnation
Of our minds, of our feelings,
We can’t resort to them with dealings.
What previously seemed mundane
Is really wonderful today!
And our eyes are full of tears,
No pain, no sufferings, no fears.
So, our home’s a paradise,
Which always soothes our cries,
It is a place, where you were born,
Where you will never feel alone.

Justice – a Rule of the day
You see a lovely sunny day
Without wars, without screams,
Justice’s a ruler of the day,
You’re slowly pluning into dreams.

There is another clear world,
So, reaches,gold mean nothing here,
And people are very fun and honest.
Dissimilation has disappeared.
Only you and your strange thoughts,
Labyrinths, tunes are in your head.
So, you know: in real world
Everyone miscomprehends.

Your heart believes in moral signs,
This mucky world will go away
Andwe will wait for new great times,
Where justice’s a ruler of the day.

                  Music
When I want to relax,
When my thoughts got mixed up,
I turn on some good tunes,
Listen to them in the dark.

Music heats all my soul,
That’s  I need at this time,
I feel every its rhyme,
And my mood becomes fine.

Now I ‘m a hero, prepared
To perform any acts!
Thank you ,music, for help.
Don’t permit to regret.

THE FIRST SNOW
The first snow has dropped out at last! The houses , the trees, the fields are white with snow. The wood is covered with a warm white blabket. All animals have prepared for winter. They sleep in their warm holes peacefully.
There is so much noise in the streets! Heaps of small children are running in the snow. They are shouting and laughing. They are making a snowman and some of them  are skiing . Their faces are red and happy. Their eyes are so bright! So, the children are having fun! II think, the first snow is a holiday for everybody: for children and grown-ups!

Don’t be afraid!
Today we have a lot of fears
We are afraid to loose a head

All our life is full of tears
For us it's hard to make a step

Don't be afraid to dream all night
About bright moments with all your mind

Rejoice like kids, smile, dance and walk
Be bright and noisy, like a firework

Don't be afraid to fall and rise
Down with your fears, just break the ice

And when your mind is full of doubt
Don't get upset, listen to your heart

Don't be afraid to admit you 're wrong
Don't merge with crowd, so, just be strong

I think, we should wake up at dawn
To see the beauty and the storm

You should be free, call out for change
Don't care, if people think you're strange

Don't waste your time, go forward
And you will really change the world!

                                   Belovezhskaya Pushcha

Belovezhskaya Pushcha, the Queen of the forests
The kingdom of magic, the kingdom of wonders!
The land of the deer, boars and martens,
The fairy tales of the forests and margins!
Remember, Pushcha, you are great!
I love you deeply, dear land!
Your sunrise in a splendid sight
Which gives me always such delight!

Belovezhskaya Pushcha is always amazing
With its boundless, endless expanses.
Your rives are bubbling and oakery`s swaying
Your beauty’s  in songs and dances.

A New Mother Cat
Hi! I’m Sergei Plisko. I’m from Miory, Belarus. I am going to tell you a true story that happened in my neighbour’s family.
Dolly was a small, graceful and very beautiful dog. She was a favourite of the family. Especially the children adored her.
In spring Dolly gave a birth for two puppies. All they looked at their mother with affection, and she took care of them: transferred them from one place to the other carefully, fed and licked her dear children.
In three days there was a disaster: during her walk Dolly was run over by a car. The owners were in great despair. What will be with the little puppies? They were absolutely tiny, blind and helpless.
First of all, the kids put the puppies in a box. They started to whine in some hours. They got hungry. The kids tried to feed the puppies with milk from a pipette. Soon there left nothing. The puppies peeped more persistently.

The owners told to their friends the puppies’ story. They had a cat Smoke by name. Smoke had a kitten. The adults decided to enclose puppies to the cat.
When Smoke saw the strangers, she jumped aside, curved a back in an arch. She approached the puppies in some minutes. The cat started to sniff the foundlings. Puppies felt a warm and fluffy cat, clung to the cat and began to squeak. It seems, that Smoke understood everything. She licked one puppy, then the other one. The cat lay down near her new kids and purred. Puppies quickly found the milk and breathed heavily with pleasure.
So, the cat fed the kitten and two puppies. They became one friendly and united family. It was very interesting to watch this unusual family.

How We Made a Snowman
I like to play in the yard with my friends on a sunny winter day. We sledge, ski, play snowballs with great pleasure. I like to make a snowman and build a snow castle very much. I`d like to tell you how my friends and I made a huge snowman last winter.
The day was warm enough and it was easy to work with snow. First of all, we decided to make one big snowball. My friends and I worked very hard and our snowballs grew very quickly.  We put the biggest snowball on the ground. Then we began to lift the second one, out it was so heavy that we couldn`t raise it. So, we decided to call my dad.
My dad helped us to make the body and the head of our snowman. The snowman turned out to be so huge that we had to bring a chair to finish our work. We made hands, legs, a scarf, and buttons from snow. My friend Danila brought a big carrot instead of the snowman`s nose and a big broom. We used coal to make eyes and a mouth.
Our snowman looked wonderful! We were very glad. We looked at each other and laughed. All children and grown-ups liked our snowman. So, it stood in the yard till spring and brought joy to all our neighbours.

The Hero of Our Time

Hello! I`m Maxim Pishchulyonok. I`m from Belarus. I live in the small town of Miory, Vitebsk region. I go to school №3. I am in the 5th class. All the students of our grade are the young pioneers. Our pioneer unit has got the name of Egor Tomko. There is a street in our town which is also named after Egor Tomko. I wanted to know more about this man. This is what I have learnt.
Egor Tomko was born on the 3rd of August, 1935 in the village of Leonovtsy, Miorsky District, Vitebsk Region. He went to school №1 in Miory. Egor didn`t betray his friends. One day, the boy was sitting on the window-sill. Somebody pushed him and Egor broke the window. So, the boy took the blame on himself. His family was poor. These parents had to work very hard to earn their living. Egor helped his parents working in the garden. At night the boy was doing his homework. Egor graduated from school with a gold medal. The boy had always been dreaming of becoming a sailor. As a young man he served in the navy. For the first time in the history of the USSR he managed to sail the two submarines under the Arctic ice. Egor Tomko was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union for successful fulfillment of this very difficult task. He was commander-in-chief of the 11th division of the Atomic Submarines. Egor Tomko retired from the Navy as a Vice-Admiral. This brave and noble man died on April 1, 2008 in St. Petersburg. Egor Tomko is awarded with a lot of Medals for his courage and bravery. There is a history museum at our school, where you can see the exhibits: documents, a uniform, photos, that tell us about this brave hero of our time. I’m proud, that there are such people like Egor Tomko in our time and in our country. They teach us to love our Motherland and do our best to make our native land more beautiful, rich and happy.
